“From the first meeting to discuss my birth preferences through to the first moment I first held my baby in my arms, Katie was my advocate and my cheerleader. She coached me through my wobbles, massaged me through my pain, and stepped back to give me space when she knew I needed it. And her tireless but quiet work behind the scenes managing the practicalities of midwives, birth pools etc meant that I could stay firmly in the zone and do the work I needed to do to birth my baby safely, calmly, and in the way I wanted to, and also meant my partner could focus fully on giving me the attention I needed.
And in the postpartum period, Katie remained a source of wisdom, reassurance and kindness (both practical and emotional). Her feeding support is evidence and experience based and totally invaluable.
If you are debating whether or not to hire a doula for your birth, or in the postpartum period, I really suggest you get in touch with Katie. I felt respected and held and empowered.
Thank you Katie”
